I bought these to help add some sturdiness to my Matte Box. The cage kit I have has rods on the topside too, so I used this along with a little rod-mount by Tilta so that the flat shoe mount goes against one of the top flat surfaces on the matte-box. Now it’s wedged in there and I can make adjustments to the mattebox without putting a bunch of stress on the mounting point at the bottom. You’ll find all kinds of uses for these little things, it’s worth having them in your gig-bag.
