We also recently took in a couple of stray dogs, and the baby loves to dig holes, chew on things, explore and just cause regular mischief. She’s a lab/mastiff mix, so she’s tall enough to just step into the fire pit and rummage through anything left in there. Any time she comes in the house with a white/gray face, I know she’s been “exploring” the fire pit. Fast forward to me seeing this cover one day and immediately grabbing it. I don’t know if there is a standard size for fire pits, but there were so many sizes to choose from in this listing, I was easily able to find a match for mine. Granted, mine is only about a foot tall, whereas the covers are two feet tall, but I figured I’d make it work. The cover arrives nearly folded in a small bag. It’s made out of what seems to be good quality fabric, with reflective lining that’s waterproof. It will protect your fire pit from rain, snow, etc, and it will also keep nosey noses out of the debris. It has a couple of holes on the side to help vent the fire pit, straps on top to make it easier to handle it and straps on the bottom to secure it to the legs, plus a drawstring at the bottom. Since my fire pit doesn’t have legs, I really appreciate the drawstring, since it helps keep the cover in place. The only issue I have with this cover and my fire pit in particular is water pooling in the middle. That’s not the cover’s fault, though, that would happen with any cover. I’m going to get something to put in the middle of the fire pit (maybe a couple of cinder blocks or something) to keep the middle elevated and help the water fall to the ground. Overall, this is a great fire pit cover that should last me for years to come. It’s great quality and thoughtfully made, and I would definitely recommend it.
