Continental Electric CE-TO101 Toaster Oven, 4 Slice, White

This toaster oven looks nice. But, I’ve been using it for about a month and still can’t figure out how to toast.The slices are very close to the heating units. There is no way of adjusting. The shelf can be either very close to the top heating unit, or very close to the bottom one. My previous toaster oven was a little larger and there was more space between the heating elements. Setting the dial on “Light” makes my toast darker than I like. So I have to stand in front of the toaster oven and watch until the toast is okay, and it still is not toasted even; it’s light in spots and darker and sometimes slightly burned in other spots.
